Never change a broken system (until it's really broken)

The 20 year old stereo system in my room. Formerly probably high-end, it now has countless problems when playing CDs: I can't change tracks or rewind, I lost the remote, sometimes it randomly switches off, it can't play cassettes anymore (not that that's too much of a problem these days...). And since today, if I switch the volume to 0, I can still hear the CD playing faintly.
But I'll keep listening.
